Programs

The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities runs a variety of programs that offer additional support to the behavioral health Board system and its partners in Ohio.  These programs are as follows:

Culture of Quality: The Culture of Quality program has been developed by OACBHA and its member Boards to improve the quality of the statutorily mandated functions of county Boards administering local alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services for Ohioans.

All-Hazards Preparedness: The All-Hazards program exists to provide expertise and support to member Boards and communities as they prepare for, respond to, and recover from both man-made and natural disasters.

Older Ohioans: The Older Ohioans Behavioral Health Network was created in December 2005. The role of the network is to provide leadership for this multi-disciplinary effort to positively impact the behavioral health of older Ohioans.

Juvenile Sex Offender Management: OACBHA working with the Ohio Department of Youth Services sought and recieved a grant to improve Ohio’s ability to safely manage and treat juvenile sex offenders and youth with sexually abusive behavior. Through this grant, Ohio has a unique opportunity to contribute to ongoing efforts to create and implement effective solutions in the management of youth with sexually abusive behavior.

Medicaid: Medicaid is a federal/state program that is administered at the state level. Medicaid plays a major role in Ohio’s community behavioral health system, accounting for nearly 35% of its total cost. The Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, through a sub-recipient relationship with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, administer a fee-for-service behavioral health Medicaid benefit.
