Often times, people are reminded to take action to prepare before these events happen, but sometimes they occur without warning. Our lives can be changed in an instant by a number of different emergencies. Therefore it is important to take action.You can take action by helping individuals, families, business, and communities update emergency plans and emergency supply kits, and become better informed about emergency preparedness. - Lessons Learned: Responding to the Needs of Children in Disaster Events
OACBHA, in coordination with the Ohio Council of Behavioral Health and Family Services Providers and the Ohio Department of Mental Health is offering two free trainings on the topic of the behavioral health needs of children in disasters. These free trainings will be offered in Cleveland on June 16th and Columbus on June 17th. For these sessions, trainers from Baton Rouge, LA, Houston, TX and Findlay, OH will share information about their experiences providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents during and following disaster events.
