Medication-Assisted Treatment: Putting the Brakes on Addiction – Opiates and Other Drugs

The goal of this conference was to expand knowledge and use of medication-assisted treatment to increase its accessibility for Ohio citizens. This conference was provided for an audience of professionals from Federally Qualified Health Centers, County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Boards, community treatment provider agencies, and private physicians, with continuing education credits available to attendees. The objectives for the conference were as follows:
- To provide timely information and education on medication-assisted treatment and the latest evidence-based practices.
- To provide first-hand clinical experiences in the use of medication-assisted treatment for Ohio patients.
- To provide education on addiction and the science of recovery.
- To provide model practices in partnerships between community organizations and health care organizations for the ultimate health of the patient.
